Minister of Information and Social Development

Kydyrali Darkhan 

He was born in 1974 in South Kazakhstan region.

He graduated from Istanbul University. Doctor of Historical Sciences, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

He started his career in 2000 as the senior research officer of International Kazakh-Turkish University named after Yasawi. He worked at this university as a leading researcher, Head of Staff, Assistant Professor of the Department of History.

In 2005-2006, he worked as an acting associate professor at the department of world history, archeology and ethnology, as a senior researcher of Gumilyov Eurasian University.

In 2006-2007, he worked as an adviser to the director, deputy director of the Presidential Center of Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2007, he was appointed as an adviser to the Minister of Education and Science.

From 2008 to 2012, he was an expert of the Domestic Policy Department of the Presidential Administration, Head of Sector of the Press Service of the President, Deputy Press Secretary of the President.

In 2012-2014, he served as Deputy Secretary General of the Turkish Council of States. 

In 2014, he was appointed President of the International Turkish Academy.

From July 2016 to September 2022, he was Chairman of the Board of Yegemen Kazakhstan Republican Newspaper JSC.

By the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Tokayev he was appointed Minister of Information and Public Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Sept. 2, 2022.
